Join artist-in-residence educator Kat Wiese in a 5-week relief printmaking workshop. Explore linocut and woodcut on a clamshell press, a standing letterpress, and use hand printing methods with a barren. Students will work on projects with flexibility in scale from 3 x 5 inch mini blocks, 8 x 10 lino blocks, and 12 x 18 inch wood blocks. This unique process generates uncomparable mark-making potential for both fine art prints and commercial purposes. Learn about printmaking as a cultural art form integral to the history of political and social movements and join in a culminating celebratory Print-a-thon at the Eli Whitney Museum and Workshop where prints from the course will be pasted up in the covered bridge. The Print-a-thon is free and open to the public. The museum provides materials for this workshop but specialty papers and inks are the responsibility of the participant. This is a water-based printmaking course.

Call the Museum on weekdays from 9 to 5 with any questions or scholarship inquiries.
